Not sure what's right for you?

Choosing the right fit isn’t always easy. This cannabis strain guide was created to help new and curious cannabis  consumers learn more about the different types of cannabis and better arm themselves to make informed decisions when shopping for cannabis products. There’s more to cannabis than just tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Each strain and type of cannabis has a full spectrum of cannabinoids and terpenes that can impact the flavors, effects, and potency that each strain offers.

In addition to these three types of cannabis, there are new forms of cannabinoids coming to the market which are growing in popularity. Ask our staff to learn more about new products, like Cannabinol (CBN), which can help with sleep, Cannabigerol (CBG), which can help energize you, or to find a non-intoxicating alternative like Cannabidiol (CBD) that can promote calmness and help with inflammation.

Sativa strains are typically characterized as having a more cerebral, energetic effect than their indica counterparts. Often chosen as a daytime compliment, the effect of sativa strains is said to best suit activity and creativity. Athletes and artists alike enjoy the energetic buzz that comes with Sativa.

Indica strains are more often characterized as having a more body-focused, relaxing effect than sativa strains. Usually selected for nighttime use, indica strains are most notably described as calming and body-focused. A great evening strain to help you unwind and get ready for bed.

As you might expect, hybrid strains are bred from both indica and sativa cultivars. They can take many forms (and levels of indica/sativa dominance) based on individual strain genetics, so the effects of hybrid strains can be more difficult to determine. If you’re unsure of whether a particular hybrid strain will be a good fit, talk to one of our expert staff during your next visit and they can help you find the perfect match for your preferred activities.
